As your instructor I used my AOB school account to create my blog.
Recently just for the experience I created a hotmail account that reveals absolutely nothing about me. I used that account to login to myspace to take a look around. Blue Group: Blogs Blue Group: Blogs  This summer I followed these prompts in a class I took with Norm Constantine from St. Mary's Annapolis. There are ideas we should discuss.

Please read the underlined articles and then tell us what you think of Blogging. Could a blog be useful in your teaching world? How?

There has been a lot of concern of late with http://MySpace.com, http://LiveJournal.com
and other teenage centers of expression. Some of the fear is justified but there is more to these sites that we often do not see from our perspective. Nothing Feels Good, http://www.eschoolnews.com/eti/2005/12/001246.php , by Tom Huffman in ESchoolNews sheds some valuable light on this subject that is worth considering before we dismiss these sites as just bad.

Blue Group: Colleague Sharing Blue Group: Colleague Sharing  We have discussed many important topics and found many resources.
This week we will each create a formal plan for sharing at least one of these ideas with some colleagues at school. When I say FORMAL the format is up to you. This will be the type of plan that you would submit to a supervisor before a class visitation. If you don't have a format that your school uses, I'll be glad to provide one.
Your plan should include action items to motivate your audience.

Hope this is an important resource for you.

Creating a blog is not hard. Did you know that you can invite members or require participants to have an account? You can even limit who can and cannot reply. Not all Blogs have to be placed on a site for the world to see. You can create a private and secure blog.

1 Read the prompt on my blog, create an account for yourself or login with the account you created for your own blog. Please respond to the question on the Blog found at http://credline.blogspot.com/2006/07/blogging-some-thoughts.html

3. Take time to go to http://blogger.com and create a blog that could be used by your students or colleagues. Take the time to look at all the options. For me the hardest part is creating a user name and password that I will remember. Perhaps it is not a good idea to have a secret place to keep all user names and passwords but I need to do that to survive.
Give us the URL of your blog

Red Group: More About Blogs Red Group: More About Blogs  Topic of the week: More about Blogs and Wikis

Give us the URL of your blog

once your Blog is created save the URL so you can find it.

You can also find it on the Blogger Dashboard

http://www.blogger.com/home
Please write your user name and password in a safe place.

Sp 07 Colleague Sharing Sp 07 Colleague Sharing  Throughout this course we have discussed ways to help our students use Internet Resources in an ethical, legal and safe manner.

Now it's your turn to share.
Who will be your audience, will it be a colleague, a group of colleagues, an administrator, students or parents.

What lesson will you create to help your audience understand more clearly the power of Internet Research or Safety.

How will you share the results with your colleagues in this class?
Please see the projects from last semester that are in the student drop box for examples.

Summary: Internet Safety Summary: Internet Safety  The direct link to the Internet Safety webpage is http://ideas4us.com/internet_resources.htm
on that page I have many buttons leading to multiple resources. But let’s start with the Internet Safety PowerPoint presentation. . There are 3 options for viewing the PowerPoint, my favorite is Option 2 but if one doesn’t work try another.

In that presentation there is a picture of me on my space, actually it is a picture of my dogs but that’s the point, I claim it is me. And in the next slide is the invitation I received after creating a blog on my space. I think you’ll find it interesting.

All the links in the PowerPoint, or on the website are hot, they will take you to many resources. So let’s start exploring through the hot link listed above. As always I’ll guide you throughout the week.

Hope this is an important resource for you.
Thanks again for your dedication to learning through this course.

Tech Plans Tech Plans  Tech Plan Lessons:

Before we begin a sample tech plan for your school, it is important to have some guidelines.

In order for a school to develop a good technology plan, writers need resources. The first resource we will study is the factors of viability.

Please carefully read the factors of viability written for all our schools as guidelines to good practice. All principals have copies of this document. The FACTORS OF VIABILITY are found in PDF format here: http://ideas4us.com/tech_plans.htm

Questions for discussion:
1. Which of these factors will be a challenge for your school to follow?
2. Of what value are these factors?
